Canada is the 10th-ranked country in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Women's World Rankings. It is the seventh-consecutive ranking in which Canada has held a top-10 spot, dating back to the March 2007 ranking. Canada most recently reached the quarter-final stage at the 2008 Women's Olympic Football Tournament in China.

USA and Germany are still one-two at the head of the standings. USA recently won its third Women's Olympic Football Tournament in four tries. USA won the gold medal after defeating Canada in the quarter-final, Japan in the semi-final, and Brazil in the final. [More]

The Impact de Montréal has added six games to its 2008 schedule after its successful qualification into the group stage of the 2008-09 CONCACAF Champions League. The Impact will play home and away matches against each Atlante FC (Mexico), CD Olimipa (Honduras) and Joe Public FC (Trinidad & Tobago).
