President - Dr. Dominique Maestracci
Dr. Dominique Maestracci is the President of the Canadian Soccer Association, providing a voice for the largest participation sport in Canada. Currently serving a four-year term, he represents the sport at the national and international levels. At the international level, he serves on the FIFA U-20 World Cup committee, the CONCACAF National Teams Events committee, and the Canadian Olympic Committee's Pan Am and Team Sports Task Force committee. Before being elected as President, Dr. Maestracci served as Vice-President of the Canadian Soccer Association. He previously served as Vice-President and President of the Québec Soccer Federation, also serving on the Canadian Soccer Association's Board of Directors. Dominique was both a soccer player (up to the university level) and a soccer coach (at the national level). He was a national referee from 1983 to 1989. Dr. Maestracci is a full professor of medicine at the Université de Montréal. He has also held several high management posts, authored several scientific publications and communications, is a member of many scientific societies, and sits on several boards and advisory committees.
General Secretary - Peter Montopoli
Peter Montopoli is the General Secretary of the Canadian Soccer Association, providing leadership for the largest participation sport in Canada. At the sport's highest level, he was appointed a FIFA General Coordinator for host city Rustenburg at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. He previously served as a FIFA General Coordinator at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Egypt 2009 and was the National Tournament Director for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Canada 2007. At Canada 2007, he was instrumental in building the most-successful single-sport event in Canadian history, as the six-city tournament set a Canadian and FIFA record with close to 1.2-million spectators for the 52-match tournament. Currently, Mr. Montopoli is a member of the CONCACAF Women's Competitions Committee. Before soccer, Mr. Montopoli was the Chief Marketing Officer for Skate Canada where his milestones included the 2001 World Figure Skating Championships, an event that drew a record 215,000 spectators.
