Canada w17 opens camp in Vaughan

Canada's women's U-17 team will hold a 10-day preparatory camp in Vaughan, ON. The camp will help coach Bryan Rosenfeld narrow his selections for the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Azerbaijan 2012. Coach Rosenfeld has selected 23 players for this camp.
The camp runs 15-24 August at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan, just north of Toronto. Next month, the team heads to Azerbaijan for the 16-team FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup which runs 19 September to 14 October. This marks Canada's third participation at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
Earlier this year, Canada won a CONCACAF silver medal at the 2012 CONCACAF Women's Under-17 Championship in Ciudad de Guatemala. In five matches, Canada posted four wins and one loss, scoring 17 goals while conceding just two. Canada lost 0-1 to USA in the championship final.
