Jodi-Ann Robinson has been a star on the rise in Canada’s national program. Since making her debut at 16 - the second-youngest player in program history - she has made 34 appearances with the national team, the most recent in an 0:4 loss to USA at BMO Field in Toronto.

Born in St. Ann Bay, Jamaica, Jodi-Ann grew up in Richmond, BC. She has represented Canada at two FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cups (Thailand 2004 and Russia 2006) and won two CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championships (2004 and 2008). Featured player of the week : Kevin Harmse
Kevin Harmse
Kevin Harmse could not have imagined a better start for the 2009 Nutrilite Canadian Championship. Just three minutes from the opening whistle, he scored what would be the winning goal in a 1:0 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Pressing into the box while teammate Dwayne De Rosario drove down the left wing, Harmse lifted himself into the air to head home the opening goal of the 2009 championship.

Harmse is one of several Canadian players on Toronto FC, having made his debut with the U-20 team back in 2002. One year later, he took part in the FIFA U-20 World Cup UAE 2003, helping Canada reach the quarter-final stage. He has since continued to progress through the Canadian system, recently taking part in the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup and FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in 2008.  [More]

Joueur de la semaine : Kevin Harmse
Kevin Harmse

[More]

At the Cyprus Women’s Cup in March, new head coach Carolina Morace brought in several new faces, including four which made their national debut during the competition. She also brought back a few veterans, including Melanie Booth who was not part of the final selection for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament last August.

It was seven years ago that Melanie made her debut with the national team, getting her first call at the 2002 Algarve Cup in Portugal. She made her debut as a substitution in a 3:0 win over Scotland - she was still just 17 years old at the time. Later that year, she represented Canada’s youth team at the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship Canada 2002. She helped Canada win a silver medal after an 0:1 loss to USA in the final. After the championship, she returned to the national team in time for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, helping Canada again finish second to USA.  [More]

Featured player of the week : Christina Julien
Christina Julien
It’s not every day that a player gets to score in her international debut. Such was the case for 20-year old forward Christina Julien who scored in a her 5 March debut at the 2009 Cyprus Women’s Cup. That she scored with the help of legendary Canadian striker Christine Sinclair might make the debut that much more memorable.

Christina is a new addition to the Canadian program, having missed the opportunity to play in Canada’s youth system. The Williamstown, ON forward was one of new coach Carolina Morace’s additions during her initial camp in February. By early March, she had made three appearances at the Cyprus Women’s Cup, helping Canada finish second in the eight-team tournament.  [More]
