The Canadian Soccer Association National Championships All Stars competitions will kick off Tuesday 17 July and will run through 21 July. The week-long competition features many of Canada’s brightest footballers from the U-15 and U-16 levels.
The Boys tournament, in both age groups, will, for a second year in a row, be held in Mount Pearl, NL, and is hosted in partnership with the Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Federation. In that same week, both U-15 and U-16 Girls tournaments will be hosted in partnership with Nova Scotia Soccer and held in Halifax, NS. Full schedule for all four events is available on the official All Stars microsite at canadasoccer.com/selects
In all, 432 athletes will take part in this 2012 edition of the All Stars championships. The competition brings together Canada’s best young players in an environment where they can test themselves against the best of their peers on a national level, while offering an unforgettable sporting experience to all the participants.
In addition, the All Stars competition provides the Canadian Soccer Association’s national team programs with a valuable talent identification platform. In fact, Men’s U-17 coach Sean Fleming and High Performance Director - Men’s Tony Fonseca have already confirmed they would be attending the Boy’s tournament in Mount Pearl, NL in search of up-and-coming talents.
Coaches and team directors from across Canada, including those from clubs, Canadian universities and colleges, are also encouraged to attend the All Stars in both Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador.
